I wonder whether the refresh rate of the TV makes a difference to the power consumption? I'm thinking of getting a 40 inch Sony TV with a 200Mhz refresh rate...

I think that the Maker of the TV Set should have to put an Energy Guide on the set as they do on Fridges etc. Something like A,B.C,D etc. ?

I'm a little surprised to see in the chart "Facts and figures" that a big LCD screen consumes more energy than a fridge-freezer. I wonder which data where used for this estimate. I'm sure they are average values, but I wonder if the fact that normally freezers lose their efficiency if they are 5-10 yrs old. I'm pretty sure my old freezer costs me more than my brand new Sony Vaio LCD ^__^
