Pixels & Resolution

A television picture is formed by pixels – tiny, coloured dots - and resolution is the number of pixels per square inch of screen. The more pixels there are, the higher the resolution. The higher the resolution, the better the picture quality. Resolution measurements are shown in this type of format: 1280 x 720. These numbers correspond to the number of horizontal and vertical pixels in the image.
